Rob is a seasoned business development executive with a relentless focus on creating shareholder value. His strong financial and consumer analytical/technical skills, industry experience leading P&L/business operations, and significant management consulting experience give him a unique perspective — connecting strategy to planning and planning to execution better and faster. Rob works with senior executives to help lead major transformational change. At The ROIG Group, Rob provides brand and business strategy, financial analysis, performance leadership, cultural change management, and customer value proposition development.

In-the-Chair Experience

Prior to co-founding The ROIG Group, Rob was SVP of Corporate and New Business Development at Musicland and a Vice President at Best Buy. Past roles included SVP of Retail Operations, SVP of Sam Goody Stores, SVP of Corporate Development, VP of Inventory and Merchandise Planning, and VP of Mergers and Acquisitions. Rob was one of a handful of officers selected for the Accelerated Learning Program (ALPs) for high-potential leaders. Earlier in his career, Rob spent 9 years with Accenture Consulting working with retail clients including Sears, Target, and Best Buy.

Academic Background

University of Wisconsin–Madison, B.S. in Computer Science (four-year scholarship athlete in basketball, All Big Ten Academic Team). MBA in Finance and Business Policy from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

In-the-Chair Experience

Prior to The ROIG Group, Joe directed Best Buy's Enterprise Service Capability, leading development efforts and new business activity for the Geek Squad — including the initial concepts to take Geek Squad outside of Best Buy via standalone stores and new partnership models. Working alongside EVPs and C-Level executives, Joe facilitated, designed, and aligned strategic roadmaps to accelerate Customer Centricity, International Expansion, and an embedded Innovation Methodology. Before Best Buy, Joe worked with Digital River to launch new initiatives in Digital Music Services and develop new channel programs in the Government & Education sectors. Joe also co-founded FileLink Corporation, a high-tech mass storage solution within the Radiology sector of the Healthcare Industry.
